The pair of matter-of-fact, give-no-fucks older ladies were always good for a sharp quip or two, and always succeeded in providing us with a funny Mindy reaction.

The two had contrasting views but there seemed to be a mutual attraction. They eventually begin a short courtship, and it’s easy to see why Mindy fell for Ben. He’s smart, charismatic, handsome, and is in the medical profession. Mindy eventually convinces herself that Ben is the right one for her, and proposes to him.

But if we’re heading towards something more stable for her, is Jody really the guy for the job? He ended the season on https://loveconnectionreviews.com/ a strong, almost convincing note. But it will be interesting to see if he can actually stick the landing in season 5.

But this season she got to chime in with even more of her nonsensical yet super funny offerings at her desk, in the break room, and really anytime she felt like it. We also saw Tamra (Xosha Roquemore) get involved much more with the office politics, from hanging hardly offensive posters to teaching dance lessons during the company softball game to giving her scrubs a hot makeover. Colette (Fortune Feimster) served as a strong voice of reason, Morgan (Ike Barinholtz) has never been funnier, and in their greatest accomplishment, Jeremy (Ed Weeks) is evening out. He’s no longer tipping the scales toward sad and pathetic, he’s balancing out closer to someone who is just enthusiastic about his very specific likes (CBS’ Elementary?). The fact that it was Jody (Garret Dillahunt) is a whole other issue. He truly did grow on me over the course of the season.

Maybe the fact that all of the love interests look like „traditional“ (aka white) Hollywood leading man types is linked to Mindy Lahiri’s obsession with romcoms (and Mindy Kaling’s, for that matter.) Romantic scenarios end in disaster. When a man cooks dinner for a Dr. Lahiri, a fire breaks out. When Mindy takes a supposedly sexy shower with Casey, he’s freezing and shampoo bottles tumble on to their feet. When Mindy Lahiri makes out with guys, they get lipstick all over their faces — a realistic result that never happens in romcoms.
